Whoo-hoo! It really was amazing! Except for the part where they tell you about, ohhhh I don't know, 10 minutes, before the shuttle is set to launch that if the shuttle explodes a cloud of hydrochloric acid will make its way towards us and we will need to seek the closest shelter immediately.
Oh, wait! There is no shelter. Which means thousands of people will have to make a mad dash to the buses or jump into the alligator infested waters. Don't you think we should be warned about that before we get on the bus all the way to the "point-of-no-return-until-the-shuttle-launches" causeway??
Yep. Needless to say I had already staked out an escape route and had my personal items ready for a grab-n-go sprint emergency exit. I'm not even kidding or trying to be funny. I really was nervous. Once you see the video, that I still need to figure out how to upload on here because it is kind of long, you will see what I mean. I am shaking like C-R-A-Z-Y during the whole thing.
But I digress...
Let's take a look at some of the pics I took before the big launch:

Let's take a look at some of the pics I took before the big launch:
A Space Armadillo in front of the Kennedy Space Center
Astronaut Statue hovering over the Space Center (too high up to take pic with, otherwise I would have- but you already knew that)
Space Rainbow
Me and Matt on the Space Bus to the point of no return.
The Space TV on the Space Bus.
Matt standing "next" to the shuttle. (It's the white blob).
The closest and clearest pic I could take of the shuttle from the causeway of death.
Matt's reaction after the big LAUNCH!
PS- Did I tell you that I got a shirt at the gift shop that says "Does this shirt make me look weightless?" LOVE IT!
